Ranking Cavalry

Shogun and I are currently testing whether rushing head-on and with the "walk through" tactic is better for cavalry charged in a 3-rank deep formation or 2-rank-wide formation; the results are as follows:

3-rank deep formation
HEAD ON: No significant advantage, gets beaten by 2 ranked-wide.
WALK THROUGH: Destroys 2-ranked wide cavalry.

2-rank wide formation
HEAD ON: Outflanks and surrounds 3-rank deep formation and wins.
WALK THROUGH: Get's destroyed by 3-rank wide.

can you tell me what the "walkthrough" is?

a walk through is cavalry charge that is followed by a walk through as soon as they draw melee weapons.You click a position behind the enemy unit and walk towards it.


here is my question....what is better...walkthrough or runthrough?

Yes, a walkthrough or a run through, that would be something to try out.

Maybe the name of the tactic is vague, if you walk through you will be slaughtered, if you run, you will not. I had the same confusion, it should be called a runthrough.
