^^ Stainless Steel, without a doubt the best mod out there, like retrofit but much better, more factions and units, better missile balance (mounted archers worth takeing as aposed to mounted xbowmen always), has a superb single player and multiplayer would be good if people played it (me and some m8s played earlier releases and found it very nice), it is regularly updated (the next relese is widening the map and adding another new faction) i would deffo recomened you get this

^^ Broken Cresent long time in the makeing and much anticipation about this, im downloading now, already seen people trying it out online, it focuses on the lands to the east of constantinople and the holy land, all the way to india, it looks like a nice mod as it will be tottally different from the origional game in terms of a whole new roster of troops (300 totally new units) | |

| no, it works like adding kingdoms or retrofit, it makes its own files and seperate .exe, doesnt affect the origional in any way | |

| I was just going to make anouther thread like this. Stainless steel rocks hard. They have patched it up to 5.1 and I suggest you add Echad's fix pack 1.9. It fixes and adds alot of things including the latest battle and campaign AI's and anouther new faction. Heres links for everything you need. Stainless Steel 5.0: http://files.filefront.com/Stainless+Steel+50exe/;8785680;/fileinfo.html Stainless Steel 5.1 link: http://files.filefront.com/Stainless+Steel+51b+patchexe/;8998491;/fileinfo.html And the fixpack 1.9: http://www.mediafire.com/?20zmotjcap4 I've also been playin' alittle Deus Lo Vult. It adds even more but it's script intensive so I only recommend it for people with high-end computers. Very fun. One of the things I like is that you have to crown your new king by taking him to the capital or he might not be accepted...civil war. They also have Deus Lo Vult mods for the Brittish Island, Teutonic Knights, and the Americas campaigns. They arnt as script heavy and probably would run smooth on any of our computers. Heres the link for that: Deus Lo Vult: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=309 Both these mods make excellant use of ancilleries. They add many new ones including famous swords\armour and every settlement gives a title. For example if you take York, the next turn your general will get the ancillery "Duke of York +1 loyalty +1 inf command" or some such. You can move these titles to any of your other generals just as you would any other ancillery. If you played the original MTW then you know what you've been missing. I highly recommend these mods. The graphics upgrades alone are worth it too me. All the new textures, sprites, and just the new units in general make it a blast. *EDIT* There seemed to be some confusion on what needed to be downloaded. Hopefully that has been resolved.

| Oh I should add that both Stainless Steel and Deus Lo Vult require Kingdoms, but they are played on the Grand Campaign map. The whole map of europe, not the Kingdoms regional maps. I looked at the Broken Cresent mod and it requires MTW2 patched to 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4 Kingdoms. | |

| ok ive been playing abit of broken cresent, and im very impressed (its second only to stainless steel) it provides a totally different experience on medieval, with the lack of a heavy basis on western factions and instead focusing on the east. the map is beutifully done and the units are beautifully skinned. there a balance issues though! but alot of tastey units to try, with very different play styles to previous medieval factions. the crusaders on it are nice, im esp likeing the jumbled look of their knights, each one wearing different armour with different countries flags on, makes them look very individual. its not perfect but its certainly very fun, and very different to other mods which just sort to imporve on what was already there, this mod changes everything. heres some poor janisaries being mushed by some cav oh yeah i also found this pic from Stainless steel from aaaages ago and DLV which was one of the first mods to let you play mongols (DLV is a properly hardocre game, focusing abit too much on realism which unfortunately means its quite slow and boring) | |

| This will help explain the Stainless Steel download procedures.
You will need Stainless Steel 5.0, the 5.1 patch, and the 1.9 fixpack to play with us online. It runs off the Kingdoms .exe so Kingdoms is also required. Here are direct links to all three:
Stainless Steel 5.0 http://files.filefront.com/Stainless+Steel+50exe/;8785680;/fileinfo.html
Stainless Steel 5.1 patch http://files.filefront.com/Stainless+Steel+51b+patchexe/;8998491;/fileinfo.html
Stainless Steel 1.9 fixpack...at the bottom of the page. http://www.mediafire.com/?20zmotjcap4
They must be installed in that order. The first two files are big...about 700 and 400 megs, but it is WELL worth it. It has its own installer, all you have to do is double click and it will do the rest. It will NOT affect your original MTW2 files. It also adds a short cut to your desktop. It really couldnt be easier.
If you want to check it out first you can go here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=126810
