| He is probably in my opinion the best King in the Medieval Period .He defeated the Seleucids,Syrians, Romans, and forced Parthia out of Armenia. In the First battle of Tigranakert (Armenian Capital at the time), his Greek mercenaries opened the cities gates and the Romans charged in.Tigran The Great sent his troops to the gates and forced Lucullus to retreat. Later pompey defeated the 75 year old king in the second battle of Tigranocerta and made him surrender. he was nice and genorous to Tigranes and made him keep his land and became allies..Tigranes The Great made Armenia reach to her greatest extent.

| Well, only one thing, if he was the best king of the Medieval Age, how did he surrender to the Romans? You must just have the times mixed up. | |

| Because he was old and his mercenaries betrayed him. His son Tigranes was also a traitor. He helped pompey with supplying him troops . read the wiki it explains better. | |
