The M2TW 2007 Total Awards will be conducted differently this time around. After a shaky beginning to what we hope to be an annual process, we have had many discussions and have concluded that these new rules are the most fair and will properly award those who are most deserving.
Each clan will have three nominations per award. A representative from each clan will discuss each category on their own respective forums and gather from their mates the three most deserving candidates. We trust that clans will choose emissaries that will act in the best interest of their clan. Nominations will be posted here:http://totalawards.org/1v1/index.php?board=32.0.
- You cannot nominate your clan, nor your clanmates
- You do have the option to abstain from votes
- Do not nominate more than three per category
The rationale behind this ban on voting for your own team is as follows: In the past we have received the argument that certain players only associate themselves with their own clan, and that is why they are unknown to everybody else. Unfortunately these awards are about building community and if certain players play only with a few individuals that is perfectly fine, but does not exemplify the type of competitor we wish to reward in these ceremonies. If you truly believe in your own candidate, you can choose to abstain from the vote.
The nomination period will last from September 1st, until September 21st, which is ample time to discuss with your clan and make your nominations. Once the nominations are collected, the TA staff will compile them and make a shortlist based on the number of nominations. We cannot predict how many nominations will secure a place on the shortlist, but will be decided by discussion amongst the TA staff.
The shortlist poll phase will start on September 21st, and last until September 28th. You cannot vote for your own clan. If you believe that your clan/clanmate are the proper choice for the award, then you have the option of abstaining from the vote. If you violate this rule, the said nominee may be subject to removal from the shortlist. The same applies for duplicate account voting. Once the 2 weeks are finished, the award staff will review the votes casted to dismiss any suspicious activity.
