| Well its pretty sweet. It took me a little while to change the controls back the way I like them, but you can customize them now so thats cool. Cant figure out how to make clicking the mouse wheel zoom in on a unit, but thats fairly minor. I went to video options first and selected automatic, which put everything on Ultra. It seems to take a good forty seconds to load the battles, but runs completely smooth when it starts. It took about an hour to download the demo, and I'm not sure where it installed it. Its very easy to lauch it from steam though. Only played the land and sea battles once, resulting in a close victory on both. In the land battle I was impressed with the ai's behavoir. It wont let you leave units unattended and it had a decent go at countering my river-crossings. It still wasn't a match though and Im not sure why it was called a close victory when I still had a large part of my army left. The naval battle was very fun, easy to maneuver though my formation broke up rather quickly, but thats to be expected. I only lost 2 ships and they were a third and forth rate ship-of-the-line. Boarding actions are cool the way the troops swarm aboard from all over the place. Only a few minor complaints, but for being only a demo I can see I'm going to love March 3rd. | |

| Got a decisive victory the second time, even after they took out half of my art in one shot. | |

| Well I've played three more naval battles and after figuring out the formations havent lost anouther ship. Decisive victories every time. I love watching the men jump overboard when it starts going under, debris floating all around, with their ship ablaze. Havent manged to board a ship without it sinking first. I was hoping to build up my fleet by capturing ships , but now im not so sure. Cant wait for online! Still cant get better then a clear victory on land. During one of my battles I actually had the AI place stakes in the western river crossing! Cheeky bastards. They left me just enough room to move my cav across two by two. (Hmm that gives me some ambush ideas.) Its sweat how you can deploy stuff like that during the battle and I just love lobbing grenades into the enemies ranks. Driving them out of the building or bringing it down on top of them. All good fun. The square and diamond formations are cool too. Anyone else had time to play it yet? I'd like to hear some of your thoughts. | |
